How do I keep bright nail polish from dulling?

I bought a new bottle of really bright purple nail polish recently. However, whenever it dries, it turns dark and dull. I've tried putting on a top coat right after I apply it, but it still becomes several shades darker than the nail polish in the bottle. Any suggestions and tips would be greatly appreciated =)How do I keep bright nail polish from dulling?
Just like the paint you use on the walls, it will always dry 2-3 shades darker than it looks in the bottle. Attempt to purchase a lighter color. In reference to it getting dull, make sure to use a clear coat (it does not have to be top coat but clear coat) once daily to keep it from chiping and getting dull (make these coats very thin). This should get you a week or two of color. As far as getting dark... there is nothing you can do besides mixing it with something else (and who knows what you will get then). *** Helpfull hint... if your nail polish gets thick in the bottle add just a few drops of nail polish remover to revive the regular consistancy. Be careful and start with 2 drops, mix and add more as needed. Good luck! How do I keep bright nail polish from dulling?
Basically, you always have to go a coat lighter than what you want on your nails. Nailpolish always dries darker than it seems in the bottle (except for black, which, for some reason, dries lighter and needs, like, a million coats). Basically there is nothing you can do except prevent this in the future by going a coat darker, in my opinon.
Nail polishes can be deceiving! Honestly thats the sad truth, sometimes its darker or lighter than how it shows in the bottle. Although how many coats are you putting? Sometimes putting more than one coat makes the color much darker. Aside from that, theres nothing i could tell ya =]
apply a clear, top coat after you have finished applying the polish
