WD 40 will solve your problem

Are you in the UK?

If not it may be called something else but it is a spray can with solvent and oil in it.

A couple of sprays of it will clean out any grease and muck and leave it lubricated.

You do have it in the USA.

And all over the world.

No maintenance engineer could work without it.
try acetone (one of the main ingredients in nail polish remover).
use wd-40 instead.
